  • Spilanthes Oleracea

A medicinal plant whose uses after many decades still seems to be burgeoning.

Spilanthes a natural anesthetic, can be used topically, as in the case of its use in toothache and oral pain relief.

A quick chew of this bright yellow gold and red inflorescence flower, or its leaves, quickly produces a tingling and then numbing sensation giving this plant the quality of being an anodyne, and its most popular knick name of the ‘toothache plant’. The antibacterial qualities helps gum and throat health, and it is a good healing agent for canker sores, dry mouth, and sore throats.

But there’s so much more to this multidimensional plant.

We also know that it is a natural antiseptic, and is anti-fungal and anti-inflamatory. It can be used as an immune booster and works against candida & thrush, increases immunity, supports Vitamin C absorption and supports digestion. With the bio-actives in this compact flower so easily absorbed, it has plenty of bang!*

All of these amazing qualities support & help healthy glowing skin to be sure, and there happens to be even more to offer our skin! Read on.

* It is best to find out any possible contraindications and herb-drug interactions prior to ingesting herbs.

Objectionable to injectables?

The exciting news is the extract of Acmella Oleracea is considered a natural alternative to cosmetic injectables such as Botox, Dysport or Xeomin. Acmella Oleracea reportedly reduces muscle tension, reducing facial wrinkles caused by tense or contracted facial muscles when applied topically. A natural muscle relaxant.

Dr. Klein expounds, “I have, so far, found Spilanthes extract reduces wrinkle depth a bit, immediately. And medium term application leads to additional reduction, used in concert with other signature extracts of JK7®.” Further more, “It should be made clear, Spilanthes does not paralyze temporarily for weeks like the extreme of cosmetic injectables.”

Dr. Klein is closely studying this natural marvel, and is undertaking testing in vitro and in vivo, to unearth its efficacy as an anti-oxidant, anti-aging and anti-glycation compound, and believes it may also be a natural support for the skin’s bacteria biome. Exciting times in natural skin care advancement are upon us!

Wishing you much Summertime fun & joy!
